Houston Belt & Terminal Federal Credit Union was founded in 1949. It serviced employees of Houston Belt & Terminal Railroad. The original location was in the Downtown Union Stations building, which is now the Minute Maid Park. Through out the years other businesses have been added to the field of membership. Several years back Houston Belt & Terminal Railroad was merged into Union Pacific and Burlington Northern, Santa Fe Railroads. Houston Belt & Terminal Federal Credit Union remained intact to service its original members and employees of these Railroads.

Houston Belt & Terminal Federal Credit Union was organized in 1949. As a member-owned credit union, our philosophy is not for profit, not for charity, but to serve our membership. HB&T FCU is dedicated to providing its members with courteous, efficient and professional financial services while maintaining the highest ethical standards. Through sound business practices, the credit union strives to offer the lowest possible loan rates and the highest possible dividends.
Vision Statement
Houston Belt & Terminal Federal Credit Union would like to be the first financial institution its members go to for all their financial needs. To do so we will continue to research new services and products to make available to our membership. Adhering to good business practices, change will come slow and steady to ensure the financial strength of our credit union on the behalf of our members.
